Father's Day Urban Hiking

Liz just got a CamelBak hydration pack. And to try it out we went on a *hike* to Greenlake around and back. Today we really had good weather for the hike too, the sun was out and it was in the 70s.

It was hot enough in fact that they had a pre-opening of the wading pool. It was strange to see the pool actually filled with water, since the whole time we have lived here it has been empty. But there were a lot of young families with little kids playing in the pool, and it was neat to see all the people out and around Greenlake.

On the corner by Ravenna there is a shop that rents out kayaks and paddle-boats. A lot of people were out today paddling. In fact, there was even a kayak race just finishing up while we were walking around the lake.

There were also some really cool plant life around the lake; including these irises, and on the Northwest end of the lake an expanse of lily pads. In one section of the lilies there were a couple of logs and a bunch of turtles. We have a short video of the turtles trying to balance on the logs.
