NC trip Part 1

Liz and I are currently in North Carolina. We came back from Seattle for Liz's doctoral hooding. While in town were fortunate to have a chance to take in some of the local sites. On Friday we drove to the Duke Gardens and got to see some of the early summer flowers.

The roses were all in bloom and they looked very impressive. There was a wide variety in styles and colors. Here is one of the many rose pictures that we took.

The formal garden was also in full bloom. We were too late to see the wisteria in bloom, but we were introduced to another purple flower that we also like.

We had seen the baby ducks at Greenlake before we left, so we made sure to walk around the duck pond hoping to see a number of baby ducks at Duke. To our surprise there seemed to be only male ducks everywhere we looked. Fortunately, tucked in the corner by the Japanese garden there was one momma, two daddies and four baby ducks.
