Pike Place Market Street Scramble

Today Liz and I got together with the Davis Family ( Ian, Katy and Evan ) and Sara and Tom to do the Market Street Scramble.

The Seattle area street scrambles are a series of events where the participants race around trying to get to interesting locations around Seattle to answer often inane questions. The Market street scramble was our third this year; we also went to the University District Street scramble and the Gig Harbor Street scramble. The Market scramble was a little different...only one time period (2hrs.) and a lot of the questions were themed on the Christmas holiday. This street scramble started at the Market theater, where the outside was "decorated" by thousands of pieces of gum.

We had a lot of fun running around the area around Pike Place Market. Not many of the clues were actually IN the market; with the number of people participating, its not surprising that they wouldn't want a large influx of people looking for a small object or phrase on a sign.

The area around the market is quite hilly; you get progressively higher up as you go farther away from the Puget sound, so we tried to plan our route so that we weren't constantly running up and down hills, although we did tire Evan out (he's the little one...not the one carrying the little one!)
